Description
Aesop and Son "The Sick Lion" Production Background by Sam Clayberger (Jay Ward, 1961). "Whoever heard of a singing lion?" In this fable, a lion sneezes every time he roars; what he really wants to do instead of roar is sing! Here's an original 12 field production background painted by Sam Clayberger (1926 - 2018) of Leo's name up in lights with a crowd in line to hear him sing; you can find this image at about the 4:28 timestamp within the episode (or 10:15 within the complete Rocky and Bullwinkle Season 2 episode). The art is in gouache on background board measuring approximately 13" x 10.5". The artboard has a protective sheet of acetate attached (which can be easily removed). The art condition is Very Good with minor handling, edge wear, and tack holes in all four corners.From the Archive of Sam Clayberger and Michael Kadin.
