Mother Goose Melodies Mother Goose with "Storybook" Title Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1931). Mother Goose slips out of a storybook with a spectacled goose on her head and dances a jig, in this group of two original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings. This early Burt Gillett-directed Silly Symphony short was released to theaters on 4/17/1931. The images can be seen in the short at about the 2:35 mark, as Mother Goose sticks a foot out of the oversized book and goes into her dance, her pet goose balancing itself on top of her head. The book drawing, numbered 132 in the lower right, is in graphite with subtle yellow and green pencil highlights and an overall image size of approximately 4" x 5.5". Dancing Mother Goose is drawn in graphite with an image measuring 4.5" x 5.5", and is numbered 151. This last drawing also includes a studio "Shot" stamp in the upper right. Overall condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.
