Description

Donald's Cousin Gus Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1939). "Hahaha! Boy! What an appetite!" Donald Duck marvels at the dinner table antics of his cousin gluttonous cousin Gus in this fantastic sequence of four original animation drawings. Directed by Jack King and released on 5/19/1939. Donald's Cousin Gus was the first-ever pre-recorded program to be televised in the United States, airing as part of NBC's "first night" of sponsored programming on 5/3/1939, exactly one week after the film was released in theaters. This set captures the hysterical spaghetti-knitting scene from the 3:01 mark of the film, rare images of Gus rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field 5-peghole sheets of animation paper. This film was his first animated appearance! Gus measures approximately 5.75" to 7.5" tall. The drawings are numbered C41, C48, C78, and C93, and they show minor studio handling and edge wear. The condition is Very Good.
