Rocky and Bullwinkle Scene Cel with Production Background (Jay Ward, c. 1970s). "Look Natasha, is Moose and Squirrel!" That's right, Boris, it's your redoubtable opponents Rocky and Bullwinkle in a superb hand-inked and hand-painted Scene cel, produced at Jay Ward's family-owned souvenir shop on Hollywood's Sunset Blvd., the Dudley Do-Right Emporium. These specialty cels are especially important, as most original production cels from Rocky and Bullwinkle shows were destroyed years ago in a misguided housekeeping effort, meaning only Scene cels like this are regularly offered; they were only sold at the Emporium, which was in business from 1971 to 2005. This one is a doozy, with the "new-look" orange and red Bullwinkle (Jay decided he liked this color scheme better than the traditional brown) standing alongside his pal Rocket J. "Rocky" Squirrel. The pair have a combined image size of approximately 6" x 6.25". The painted background appears to be from an unspecified cartoon (NOT by Jay Ward Productions) which fits this Scene cel to a "T." The setup is matted with an opening of 11" x 9.25" with an overall mat size of 20" x 16". The condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
