Description

The Flintstones "Samantha" Betty and Barney Rubble Holding Hands Layout Drawing Original Art (Hanna-Barbera, 1965). Animation legend Richard "Dick" Bickenbach (1907 - 1994) crafted this great drawing of Fred and Wilma's next-door neighbors and best friends the Rubbles as a layout drawing from one of this show's most popular episodes. For the sixth and final season of The Flintstones, several very special guest stars loaned their voices, including the stars of the hit comedy series Bewitched, Elizabeth "Samantha" Montgomery and Dick "Darren" York, who appeared on the episode that aired on 10/22/1965. The story follows both couples and new neighbor Samantha Stevens who are on a camping trip, when the boys are frightened by a "tiglon." It turns out to be just a kitten that Sam whips up into a ferocious beast after she hears them plotting to scare the girls in a wilderness "battle of the sexes." You can see this at the 21:32 timestamp. This drawing of Betty and Barney comes after Fred and Barney admit the wives are better at camping than they are! The combined image for this graphite drawing measures approximately 3.5" x 4.5" within a red pencil panel. The art is matted with an overall size of 17" x 15". Art condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
