John Cassaday Planetary #1 Splash Page 14 Original Art (DC/Wildstorm, 1999). Dr. Axel Brass rises at the head of the table, his presence invoking Doc Savage's strength and vision. Around him sit allies born from pulp's golden age: Lord Blackstock, the jungle noble reminiscent of Tarzan, Edison with Tom Swift's inventive spark, The Aviator recalling G-8's fearless daring, Hark evoking Fu Manchu's cunning menace, and The Spider cloaked in shadows of vengeance. Together, they prepare for the greatest threat across worlds. Ink and white paint highlights over graphite on DC Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15.75".
