R-Type II - VGA 85+ NM+ Unopened, Game Boy Irem 1992 JPN. Of the mere three copies of the Japanese version of R-Type II for the Game Boy listed on VGA's September census, this one holds the highest grade, and it's our first time offering the game from any region. A follow-up to R-Type, one of the greatest side-scrolling shooters of its time, this is a handheld adaptation of the 1989 arcade sequel. The Game Boy version features five levels (one fewer than the arcade original), and a few boss names were altered, but it's a great title for shoot-'em-up fans and import collectors. The eerie and striking cover art, which differs significantly from the U.S. release, adds to its appeal as a collector's piece. While the box shows mild corner wear and a few tiny spots of wear along the front top edge, it presents beautifully overall.Auction Info
