Pocket Monsters Aka - VGA 85+ NM+ Unopened, Game Boy Nintendo 1996 JPN. This is one of just 19 unopened copies of Pocket Monsters Aka listed on VGA's September census. While the box shows mild corner wear, the overall presentation remains very strong. As the very first Pokémon product ever released, Pocket Monsters Aka debuted in Japan on February 27, 1996-predating the Cardass Vending Charizard by over six months and launching a full seven months before the iconic Base Set Charizard from the trading card game. It arrived a remarkable two years and seven months ahead of its North American counterpart, Pokémon Red Version, with "Aka" meaning "Red" in Japanese-firmly establishing it as a true first edition. Released alongside Pocket Monsters Midori (Green), this groundbreaking title sparked the Pokémon phenomenon that would go on to capture the hearts of fans around the globe.Auction Info
