Description

Kung Fu - Wata 8.0 CIB [Matte Sticker, First Production], NES Nintendo 1985 USA. [Box: 7.0; Cart: 9.6; Manual: 9.0; Overall: 8.0] Of the mere eight CIB matte sticker copies of Kung Fu on Wata's September 2025 census, only one is graded higher, and there are no sealed examples of this variant. While the box shows expected corner and edge wear, along with some creasing along the top spine, the game's undeniable rarity makes it a standout piece. Adapted from Irem's 1984 arcade game Kung-Fu Master, which was inspired by Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee films, Kung Fu was one of the earliest beat-'em-ups and a major influence on the side-scrolling action genre. The arcade version was designed by Moon Patrol creator Takashi Nishiyama, while the NES port was developed under the direction of Shigeru Miyamoto. A black box launch title, it became an early favorite for many NES owners during the console's test marketing phase.
