Description

King Comics #1 (David McKay Publications, 1936) CGC VG- 3.5 White pages. Popeye is featured on the cover of this premiere issue of a title that would run for almost two decades. Rare is definitely the word to use in reference to this book. It is one of the books that Overstreet does not even list a Near Mint price, so forget about finding a copy in high-grade. Any complete copy of this book is a great find, and this one happens to have perfectly white pages. The list of first appearances in this book is like a who's who of Pre-Golden Age superstars, including Flash Gordon by Alex Raymond, Brick Bradford, Henry and Mandrake the Magician. Overstreet 2002 GD 2.0 value = $1,200; FN 6.0 value = $3,600.
