Description

Fantasia Mushroom Dancers Courvoisier Multi-Plane Setup (Walt Disney, 1940). Ub Iwerks is credited with creating movable layers of flat art on the multi-plane camera. Disney tested it out very successfully in the short The Old Mill and then used it on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was used up until the 1989 animated feature film The Little Mermaid. Courvoisier, along with a Chicago based specialty company, did a series of multi-plane painted on glass art pieces. They did such films as Bambi, Wynken Blynken and Nod and others. This is a rare and a hard-to-find piece: the Courvoisier multi-plane camera setup of the Mushroom Dancers from the "Nutcracker Suite" section of Fantasia. The painted glass setup is in the original white wood frame of 8.5" x 8". Frame is sold as-is. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
