Alex Raymond Jungle Jim Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-28-1939 (King Features Syndicate, 1939). This beautiful Sunday is a wonderful example of Raymond's skill with a brush, delicately rendering details that enhanced the realism of his characters. His expert use of spot blacks mixed with subtle linework propelled the artist to top the list of illustrators of his time. Created in ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 24" x 11". Slight toning, paste-up text correction in panel three, label in the top left corner, tape marks in the side margins, marginal notes, with staining, edge chipping, and handling wear.
