Pas étonnant que le prix Eisner fut décerné en 2002 à cette histoire démoniaque, 'Le Ver conquérant', sixième saga du titre Hellboy. Histoire inspirée du poème d'Edgar Allan Poe portant le même titre. On y mélange fin du monde, savant fou nazi (Herman von Klempt), Kriegaffes cybernétiques, Frogmen, une partie du team du BPRD, Roger, le justicier Lobster Johnson. Cette exceptionnelle 'battle page' est tirée du volume 4, volume clef à la fin duquel Hellboy annonce qu'il quitte le BPRD, Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, menant directement au spin-off du titre B.P.R.D. Encre de Chine sur board officiel Dark Horse avec une superficie d'image de 22,5 x 33,5 cm. Signée.
