Robert Crumb Libération Margaret Thatcher Illustration Originale (SARL Libération, 28-01-1986). Créée pour la couverture du quotidien français Libération, cette illustration est par la suite publiée dans Odds & Ends , collection personnelle de très rares inhabituelles oeuvres de R. Crumb. Cette pièce satirique de Margaret Thatcher ainsi que toutes les autres oeuvres éditoriales jamais produites par R. Crumb en est un parfait exemple ! Cette représentation de Mme Thatcher en tant qu'oiseau pondant des œufs pourris a été créée en 1986, alors qu'elle était encore Premier ministre du Royaume-Uni. La collection dans laquelle cette pièce est apparue a d'abord été publiée aux Pays-Bas avant d'être republiée en Grande-Bretagne par Bloomsbury Publishing en 2001. Encre de Chine sur crayon sur papier Bristol avec une superficie d'image de 23 x 15 cm. White out. Les bords supérieurs gauche et le bord droit présentent une marque laissée par du papier collant décollé. Signé "R. Crumb". Daté 1986 dans la zone de l'image. Created for the cover of the French daily Libération, this subsequently appeared in Odds & Ends was a self-curated collection of very rare and unusual works by R. Crumb. And this piece satirizing Margaret Thatcher as well as any Editorial cartoon he ever did certainly fits that description! The depiction of Mrs. Thatcher as a bird laying some rotten eggs was created in 1986, while she was still the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The collection this appeared in was first published in the Netherlands before being republished in Great Britain by Bloomsbury Publishing in 2001. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9" x 6". There is some whiteout, as well as a tape pull on the top left edge and right edge. Signed "R. Crumb" and dated 1986 in the image area. In Excellent condition.
