Description

Bernie Wrightson Cycle of the Werewolf August Plate Illustration Preliminary Original Art (Land of Enchantment, 1983). Those dog days of August can be murder. Constable Neary's boast of "good police work" to catch the killer ends the very instant the werewolf lunges through his open window, silencing him with a permanent smile. Wrightson composes the moment with tight, claustrophobic terror in this preliminary piece, remarkably close to the final plate for August in Stephen King's Cycle of the Werewolf, where each month delivers its own moonlit murder. Rendered in marker on paper with an image area of 5.5" x 7.75". Toning, corner creasing, staining, marginal marker test marks, minor smudging, and handling wear. Signed by Wrightson beneath the image area. In Very Good condition.
