Description

Hanna-Barbera Characters Coloring Book Advertising Illustration Original Art with Photostat and Flyer Group of 5 (Hanna-Barbera/Parkes Run, c. 1970s-80s). The Parkes Run publishing firm licensed characters from Hanna-Barbera to produce a line of oversized "Giant Color-and-Learn" books in the mid-late 1970s. The coloring books were sold at Toys R Us and other locations, including New York City sidewalks, where vendors set up stands with multiple titles. Here are three original illustrations based on Hanna-Barbera coloring book covers; these black and white pieces were used in advertisements and flyers. Included are Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Like to Cook; Magilla Gorilla and the Exotic Pets; and Huckleberry Hound Keeps On Trucking. Art is in ink/black marker with minor whiteout: two are on onionskin paper while the third (Huckleberry Hound) is on thin white paper. Paper sizes are approximately 19" x 24", with image sizes of 17.75" x 22.5", 17.25" x 22", and 17" x 22.25". A 3.5" x 4.5" ad slick photostat of the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm cover plus a 2-sided flyer proof are also included. Art condition is Good to Very Good with some handling and edge wear.
