Description
Ralph Lane Vic Flint Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-3-46 (NEA, 1946). Private eye Vic Flint and his associate, Libby Lang, are on the run from a carload of mobsters in this solid episode. Lane had earned his credentials as an unbilled assistant to Roy Crane on Captain Easy and Buz Sawyer, and the experience shows in Lane's tasteful use of chemical-shading technique. Smartly composed with cinematic angles and a generous use of solid-black shadowplay. Various Vic Flint episodes would reappear during 1948 in a two-issue series of comic books from the St. John imprint. Ink and dot-pattern effects over graphite on chemical-shading board. Image area, 16" x 4.5". Toned and in Very Good condition.Auction Info
