A scheming weasel and his glamorous French accomplice conspire to frame heroic Red Ryder in an illicit affair. She has misgivings, but the shakedown artist reassures her. A suspensefully humorous interlude in Harman's long-running saga of frontier adventure, emboldened by his combination of cowhand credentials and dynamic artistry. Remembered primarily nowadays for the licensed Daisy-brand Red Ryder B-B Gun, Red Ryder held forth from 1938 through 1965 as a mainstay of the newspapers' comics pages -- and a bright example of the funnypapers' Western genre. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 22" x 6". Slight toning with marginal handling wear and spot-staining. Very Good condition.
