Description

Fred Fredericks Mandrake the Magician Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-20-73 (King Features Syndicate, 1973). Even "The Strongest Man in the World", Lothar, finds it a "tall tail" trying to wrestle a runaway lion. But luck's on his leash as this king of the jungle makes a beeline for the safety of its own den. It's muscle meets mane in this wild Sunday romp, starring one of comics' first African heroes and Mandrake's loyal, lion-taming ally. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 21.25" x 9.25". Light toning, partial sticker in top margin, blue pencil editorial notes/marks, whiteout corrections, light smudging, pulled-tape abrasions on top edge, and minor edge creasing. In Excellent condition.
