Walt Disney's Peter Pan: The Sketchbook Series Signed Limited Edition Slipcased Book #2039/2500 (Applewood Books, 1998). This title in Applewood's series of deluxe, limited edition books presents the inspirational paintings, story drawings, character designs, and rough animation created by Walt Disney Studios artists in development of Peter Pan (1953). The books parallel the 1938 Sketchbook of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in treating each major character in the film individually, showing in art and words his or her construction, development and personality. In addition, twelve exquisite inspirational paintings by Mary Blair and others for the 1953 feature film are reproduced in full color. This book is signed by two of "Walt's Nine Old Men," Ollie Johnston (1912 - 2008) and Marc Davis (1913 - 2000), plus Disney artists Al Dempster (1911 - 2001), Don Lusk (1913 - 2018), Thor Putnam (1911 - 2001), and Eyvind Earle (1916 - 2000) as well as voice artists Katheryn Beaumont (Wendy Darling) and Margaret Kerry (the uncredited voice of one of the mermaids; she also signed the image of Tinker Bell on the back of the slipcase). The hardcover book is bound in dark green cloth and in a slipcase, 84 pages, and measures 9.5" x 12"; long-out of print, it includes a Disney Certificate of Authenticity inside the book.
