Description
My Daddy Long Legs Production Cel and Animation Drawing Group of 23 (Nippon Animation, 1990). Based on the book Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster, My Daddy Long Legs tells the beautiful story of Judy Abbot after an enigmatic sponsor offer to pay for her college with the condition that she has to write him a letter once a week telling him of her experiences. This lot features a great collection of production cels and animation drawings with many characters from the anime series, prominently displaying cels with the series' protagonist, Judy Abbot. My Daddy Long Legs debuted on 1/14/1990 on the Japanese TV program "World Masterpiece Theater," recognized for adapting many children's literature classics. The hand-painted 12 field sized production cels showcase fabulous images of the characters, including a fantastic three-layered cel with Judy and her friends and a two-layered cel highlighting Judy. The animation drawings have the characters done in graphite with colored pencil details and shading, with some of the drawings also showing notes from the animators. There are various degrees of fading lines on the linework of the cels, and the animation drawings show paint from the production cel. Overall, the lot shows light handling wear from production, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
