Description

Mother Goose Goes Hollywood Stan Laurel as Simple Simon Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938). Mother Goose Goes Hollywood brings all the most famous celebrities of the 1930s together for a retelling of some classic nursery rhymes. This short was the third-to-last entry in the Silly Symphonies series, and it also came in as one of the most expensive. No doubt this was because of the massive cast of celebrities that were portrayed in the short. This image depicts comedian Stan Laurel as Simple Simon as he baits his fishing rod with fish to try catch worms! This moment can be found at about the 3:35 mark of the short. The drawing is created with graphite and red and green pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The paper is numbered in its lower right corner with 90. The image of the entertainer measures about 4.5" x 7.25". This humorous piece is in Very Good to Fine condition, with minor handling and edge wear.
