Description

The Robber Kitten Ambrose Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935). "Stick 'em up!" A kitten named Ambrose dreams that he is a daring robber in this 1935 Silly Symphony entitled The Robber Kitten. Ambrose runs away from home to avoid having to take a bath, and in the process, he meets a real outlaw named Dirty Bill. Ambrose shares his (fictitious) tales of exploits with Dirty Bill, which includes this scene in which Ambrose holds up a stagecoach and gets a bag of loot. The image comes from about the 5:36 mark of the short, and it depicts Ambrose as he lets loose a stream of bullets in the air to frighten the stagecoach's passengers. The drawing contains an excellent, full-figure image of Ambrose measuring about 3.5" x 4.25". This image is created with graphite and red and green pencil on 12 field, 2-peghole animation paper, and it is numbered in its lower right corner with 72. The piece is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear and some age-related toning.
