Description

Peanuts The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show Lucy Production Cel (Bill Melendez, c. 1970-80s). Classic Lucy! Here's a terrific production cel featuring the "fussbudget" Lucy Van Pelt leaning on Schroeder's piano. Lucy has a strong unrequited crush on Schroeder and is often seen at his piano giving him goo-goo eyes. Journalist, Christopher Caldwell of the NY Times and Washington Post said, "Lucy is no 'fussbudget.' She's an American nightmare, a combination of zero brains, infinite appetites and infinite self-esteem, who is able to run roughshod over all her playmates. At her best, she is the most terrifying character in the history of comics." It's a bit of an over-statement but the point is - Lucy is a handful! Here she is hand-painted on 12 field acetate and paired with a background copy/print for presentation purposes. The cel is framed to 20.5" x 18.5" with a matboard window of 11" x 9". Frames are sold as-is. Cel condition is Very Good.
