Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder Production Cel and Animation Drawing Group of 65 (Murakami-Wolf-Swenson, c. 1987-96). "Blasted Turtles!" The villainous Shredder is at it again in this utterly massive lot of original production cel sequences from the 1989 animated debut series of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Featuring characters from Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's increasingly popular comic, the animated series was made considerably lighter-toned than the comic so as to appeal more to children. Shredder is presented here in two different sequences composed of both production cels and animation drawings. The cels have each been skillfully hand-painted on acetate and the drawings rendered in graphite and colored pencils on animation paper. In the first sequence he appears to be examining a diamond-like gemstone across 18 cels and 18 coordinating drawings; he averages a character size of approximately 4" x 4.5" half-figured on the cels and 4" x 7" full-figured on the drawings. In the second sequence he looks agitated as if he's chastising his underlings across 15 cels and 14 coordinating drawings; he averages approximately 6" x 5.75" partially figured in both. Many of the drawings have adhered to the cels, some drawings show wear from previous adhesion removal. Debris, minor creases, small tears, and surface scuffing are present. With typical handling and edge wear the drawings range from Fair to Good and the cels range from Good to Very Good condition.More information about Murakami-Wolf-Swenson. See also: MWS Artist.
