Terrytoons Artist Heckle & Jeckle #17 Complete 1-Page Story "Heckle and Jeckle: The Talking Magpies" Original Art (St. John, 1954). Fed up with a proliferation of birdwatchers, Heckle and Jeckle take matters into their own hands. Animator Paul Terry's prankish wisenheimer magpies enjoyed a lengthy comic-book run with various publishers, most extensively in 22 issues from the St. John imprint. The unbilled artist, here, captures an essence of the movie-cartoon series. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 12" x 18".
