Description

Jay Scott Pike (attributed) or Art Saaf (otherwise attributed) and Vince Colletta Girls' Love Stories #172 Splash Page Original Art (DC, 1973). The villainess of the story strikes a seductive pose in this emphatic establishing shot from the heyday of DC's once-prevalent romance-comics line. A handwritten note on the reverse cites Pike (who is known to have done the issue's cover); one reliable online source, however, suggests Saaf as the splash-page penciler. Both were mainstays of the series, in any event. Colletta's inking job is formally documented. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 13". Moderate toning, with white-paint retouching and adhesive residue. The indicia text (lower edge) is a glue-stained photostat. Very Good condition.
