Description

Kieron Dwyer and Al Milgrom Captain America #354 Story Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1989). This split-page opener to "Reawakening" presents a striking visual parallel with Captain America (Steve Rogers) in the top half and Battlestar (Lemar Hoskins) below, each pursuing separate investigations that mirror one another. Writer Mark Gruenwald crafts a clever narrative structure throughout the issue, splitting every page in half to contrast Cap's story with that of the emerging U.S. Agent (John Walker). The approach builds toward Walker's first full appearance while offering a cinematic study in contrasts: Steve Rogers reclaims the symbol through integrity and will, while Walker embodies the institution's more rigid, militarized shadow. The result is a masterclass in visual storytelling and thematic tension: two Captains, two ideologies, one divided page. Ink and screentone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25" (including stat header and indicia paste-ups). Light toning, whiteout correction/highlights, discolored tape, smudging, minor spot staining, uneven production-trimmed top edge, tape on edges, adhesive residue, and minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
