Al Jaffee Tall Tales Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-19-62 (New York Herald-Tribune, 1962). Al Jaffee, a presence in MAD Magazine since the late 1950s, re-shaped the newspapers' comics pages with Tall Tales -- a narrow vertical panel that was usually wordless, or with minimal dialogue. This daily illustrates the humor in "literal" interpretations created in ink and Zipatone over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 2.75" x 10.25". Slight toning, discolored title header and syndicate paste-ups, marginal notes, with light smudging/handling wear. Signed by Jaffee in the lower left image area and in Very Good condition.Auction Info
