Bill Plympton The Simpsons Season 19 DVD Box Set Animation Drawing Group of 4 (Fox, 2019). Award-winning independent animator Bill Plympton, a frequent guest artist for the "Couch Gag" opening segments, was invited to design, illustrate and animate the DVD box set for Season 19 of The Simpsons. Nearly every graphic element in this collector set features artwork by the artist, from the disk sleeves to the printed episode menu and each disc has a different animated loop that plays on the top menu. Here are four original 12 field graphite and color pencil drawings that appears on Disk 1 of the box set, all featuring the family riding in purple convertible as the clouds part to expose The Simpsons logo. Each is rendered in colored pencil on 12 field animation paper and two are hand-signed by Bill Plympton. They are numbered 27, 42, 49, and 50 respectively.
