Description

The Hockey Champ Donald Duck Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1939). Donald Duck takes his nephews to a frozen lake for a friendly game of hockey that turns out less friendly the more they play! Seen starting at the 7:12 mark of the 1939 short, directed by Jack King, we get to see the humorous sequence presented in this lot, depicting over four animation drawings how Donald Duck gets trapped inside a birdcage made out of the hockey net. The graphite-rendered drawings measure from 4" x 5.25" to 4.75" x 5.25", presenting also colored pencil details. Numbered A135, A138F, A253, and A260 in the bottom right corner, the drawings are all done on 5-peghole 12-field sized animation paper. Drawing A138 and A253 present color call-outs, and A260 has the middle peghole reinforced. The four animation drawings show age-related toning and light handling and edge wear from production. Overall, in Very Good condition.
