Description
The Cat in the Hat Production Cel and Animation Drawing (DePatie-Freleng, 1971). We have in this lot a sensational hand-painted production cel from the 1971 adaptation of Dr. Seuss' classic The Cat in the Hat, featuring the titular Cat in full figure! The half-hour special gave a musical treatment to the 1957 storybook classic, presenting many songs to complement the story. The Cat in the Hat measures 5.25" with a smile of satisfaction, holding his umbrella. The lot includes an animation drawing of a bag of diamonds, done in graphite with blue colored pencil. The cel has faint surface scratches that don't affect the art, and the animation drawing has minor age-related toning. Overall, in Very Good condition.Auction Info
