Description

Mickey's Fire Brigade Mickey Mouse and Fire Hydrant Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1935). Fire chief Mickey answers the call when a fire breaks out in a hotel, leading Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to rescue Clarabelle Cow from the burning building. Clarabelle protests, however, as she is having a bath and is completely unaware of the fire! Mickey's Fire Brigade is an animated short subject film directed by Ben Sharpsteen. In these two drawings, Mickey is having some trouble with a fire hydrant here, in this scene starting around the 02:14 mark in the film. The drawings are rendered with graphite and colored pencil on 12 field animation paper. One sheet has two pegholes, while the other has five. This is because the studio was switching from their original 2-peghole paper in 1935. The drawings are numbered in their lower right corners with 6A and 33. They are in Good to Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including age-related toning, minor smudging, minor creasing, and an abrasion on the second-to-right peghole on drawing 6A.
