Description

Dave Sim Cerebus #22 Re-Creation Cover Elrod Original Art (2024). This grim cover was for the story "The Death of Elrod". It's a sad, I say, it's a sad situation, but it was inevitable. That boy was about as sharp as a bag of wet mice. He started out as the answer to the question: "What do you get when you mix Elric of Melniboné with Foghorn Leghorn?" Here he's dressed as "Bunky" because he became the sidekick for Captain Cockroach. He won't be missed, but he will be forgotten. ...What's that? He's not dead yet? Back as a Deadman parody named "DeadAlbino"? That boy's like a bad lunch... he won't stay down! Oh yeah, this cover, I say, this 1980 cover was also a parody/homage of the Marshall Rogers/Terry Austin Batman-cover from Detective Comics #472 from 1977. Created in ink over graphite and blue pencil on bright white Bristol board with an image area of 9.5" x 14.5". Signed and dated 1-16-2024 in the lower left. The A-V logo is a printed paste-up. It is in Excellent condition, which is more than you can say about Elrod.
