Description

Everett Raymond Kinstler Jesse James #8 "The Holdup at Hangman's Knot!" Splash Page 1 Original Art (Avon, 1952). From pulp pages to presidential portraits, Everett Raymond Kinstler's art thrived on drama. Jesse James flees a bank into a rifleman's sights, a moment charged with frontier peril. That same vigor shaped his White House portraits of Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, sealing a career that bridged popular art and history. Created twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 18". Signed by Kinstler below the image area. The board is toned, with adhesive residue from a missing paste-up, marginal staining, whiteout, production tape on the top right corner, and handling/edge wear. In Very Good condition.
