Art Huhta Mescal Ike Consecutive Daily Comic Strips Original Art Group of 6 (Bell Syndicate, 1940). This lot rounds up a run of daily strips from 4-22 through 4-27 of 1940, featuring the whole gang, including Mescal Ike, Miss Sally, Pa Piffle, and Yung'un, delivering their signature mix of prairie humor and backwoods mischief. It's Mescal Ike in the twilight of the trail, still stirring up laughs and a little trouble along the way. Ink over graphite on Bristol boards with image areas of 23.75" x 4.75". Toning, with heavier toning on the edges, smudging, glue residue staining, missing two publisher paste-ups, production oil and spot staining, minor waviness along the top/bottom edges, and edge/handling wear. Overall, in Very Good condition.
