Description
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Tortoise and Hare Italian Tapestry Rug Group of 2 (Walt Disney, c. 1936/37). Presented is an especially rare set of two Italian tapestry rugs featuring charming images of Mickey Mouse serenading Minnie Mouse and a wonderful image based on the 1935 theatrical short The Tortoise and the Hare. These beautiful pieces measure 17" x 18" and 18.25" x 11.25" respectively, and the Tortoise and the Hare piece bears a "By Permission, Walt Disney" label on the back. The Mickey and Minnie piece is mounted to a board with a label stating it was possibly intended for a pillow cover. Each piece shows minor handling with light debris, and the condition of each is Very Good.Auction Info
