Popeye The Sailor Production Cel (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1980s). "I'm Popeye the Sailor Man, I'm Popeye the Sailor Man. I'm strong to the finish 'cause I eats me spinach. I'm Popeye the Sailor Man." The famous Popeye eats his equally famous canned spinach in this excellent production cel. Created by Elzie Crisler Segar in 1929, Popeye is one of the most emblematic cartoon characters, and many of us will start singing his theme song just by looking at this tremendously strong sailor, measuring 4.5" tall. The cel shows some wear on the linework, and it is displayed on a glass-fronted 10.5" x 13.5" frame with a 5.5" x 8.25" matted opening. The frame is sold as-is. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
