Carlos Valenzuela "Earth Girls vs. Metaluna Mutant" Illustration Original Art (c. 2018). There's a lot to love in this knockout tribute to 1950s sci-fi. The layout riffs on Frank Frazetta's iconic Buck Rogers cover from Famous Funnies #213, swapping his shadowy menace for the bug-eyed brilliance of the Metaluna Mutant from This Island Earth. Buck and Wilma step aside for two dazzling Earth girls, frozen mid-sprawl and mid-scream, capturing the pulpy mix of danger, beauty, and retro-futuristic flair that defined the era's best space fantasies. Created in ink over printed blue line and graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.75" x 14.75". Signed by Valenzuela in the lower right image area.
