Description

Slap Happy Lion Animation Drawing Original Art (MGM, 1947). This Tex Avery-directed chuckle-fest tells the story of a mighty lion driven mad by an arrogant little mouse. In this original 12 field rough animation drawing, the lion had swallowed the mouse, who causes more trouble inside his stomach; he then swallows a classic "black ball" lit bomb which chases the mouse out, but now the lion realizes what will happen next when the explosive device (now slipped down to his tail) blows - yow! This pose can be seen at about the 5:00 mark in online viewings as the lion runs frantically back and forth. The art is in graphite, with a large image measuring approximately 9.75" x 6.25". The drawing is loosely matted, with an overall mat size of 15.5" x 12.5". There is a slight stain on the mat's lower left side. The drawing is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear and light age-related paper toning.
