Description
Jim Raymond (as Chic Young) Blondie Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-20-65 (King Features Syndicate, 1965). Dagwood would do well to spend more time with his wife -- maybe then Blondie wouldn't forget his name! Jim Raymond assisted, and occasionally ghosted, on Blondie for more than 40 years, beginning in 1935 and only receiving a byline in 1973. In the early 1950s, he assumed the role of lead artist from Chic Young due to the creator's failing eyesight. Rendered in ink and screentone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 17.5" x 5". Light toning is present, along with discolored screentone, light soiling, corner creasing, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.More information about Jim Raymond. See also: Raymond, Jim Artist.
