Description

Joe Oriolo and Otto Messmer (attributed) Felix the Cat #13 and #14 Story Pages Original Art Group of 3 (Dell, 1950). A trio of pages spotlighting Felix the Cat at his wide-eyed, mischievous best. On Story Page 11 from "Felix Pulls Through" in Issue #13, Felix leads pursuing planes straight into a magnetic crater while cruising by on his magic carpet, illustrated by Joe Oriolo. In "Felix Comes Through", attributed to Otto Messmer, Felix's simple search for a job spirals into comic chaos, ultimately paying off when his misadventures lead to the accidental discovery of "black gold" for the very farmer who first turned him away, seen on Story Pages 5 and 11 of Issue #14. Twice-up scale in ink and white paint highlights over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol boards with image areas of 12.5" x 18" and 12" x 18". The boards are lightly toned, with smudging/soiling, production notes, edge tear, missing lower right corner piece, corner creasing, and handling wear. Overall, in Very Good condition.
