Bob Moore - 1946 Motion Picture Academy Awards Christmas Illustration Original Art (1946). In this festive caricature by Bob Moore, Hollywood royalty appeals to Santa Claus for the ultimate Christmas gift -- an Academy Award. Evoking the style of Al Hirschfeld, the illustration captures a who's who of 1946 Oscar hopefuls, from Bette Davis and Gregory Peck to Olivia de Havilland, Frank Sinatra, James Stewart, and Joan Crawford, all circling the 19th Academy Awards. Created in ink over graphite on DuoTone board with an image area of 16" x 16.25". The left third of the page consists of a strip of DuoTone board with artwork affixed to the primary board. Toning, smudging/soiling, production oil staining, small piece missing from top left corner, minor creasing, and edge/handling wear. Inscribed by Moore in the lower right image area.
