Description

Bob Sullivan Nancy Reagan and Astrologer Political Cartoon Original Art (Worcester, Mass., Telegram & Gazette, 1988). Veteran editorialist Sullivan razzes First Lady Nancy Reagan's obsession with astrology in this biting flashback to an imagined scene in 1986, with a withered hag standing in for $3,000-a-month fortune-teller Joan Quigley. A reference to former National Security Advisor Robert "Bud" McFarlane is off the mark by a year -- McFarlane had "go[ne] on a long trip," or resigned the post, in 1985. Ink on Craftint chemical-shading paper. Image area, 13.5" x 10.5". Age-toned, with handling wear and marginal adhesive residue; otherwise in Very Good condition.
