Description

Carmine Infantino and The Tribe Nova #18 "Beginnings!" Story Pages 1-2 Original Art (Marvel, 1978). The judge grants Charles Rider bail as he awaits trial, opening a brief window for the fractured Rider family to stitch itself back together. Even the late-arriving Richard makes it in time, and the Riders leave as one -- wounded, but unified -- on this poignant pair of pages from the back-up story "Beginnings!" Breakdowns by Infantino, with finishes and inks likely contributed by both Tony DeZuñiga and Alfredo Alcala, both part of a group of Filipino artists under the pseudonym "The Tribe". Ink over graphite on two Bristol boards with image areas of 10" x 15". Page 2 was cut into three tiers and reassembled, with three stripped-in panels across the middle tier, all secured with tape on the reverse. Light toning, missing credits correction paste-ups, blue pencil editorial notes/marks, production oil and glue residue staining, discolored text correction paste-ups, whiteout corrections, discolored tape and tape residue staining on edges, production-trimmed edges/corners, page number and "Continued..." paste-up, stripped-in text correction held by tape on the back, and light handling wear. Signed by Infantino in the opening panel of Page 1. Overall, in Very Good condition.
