Description

Alex Raymond - Rip Kirby Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 6-11-49 (King Features Syndicate, 1949). One of the finest comic strip artists ever, Alex Raymond was a master draftsman who was also a superb storyteller. As Professor Armando Mendez put it in his "Rules of Attraction" essay, Raymond drew "concepts which gave the impression of spur of the moment visuals, thereby beginning the advent of romantic deep-focus realism to the pages of the nation's newspapers." Beautiful "bad girl," turned torch singer, Pagan Lee, the Mangler's ex-lover, is the star attraction of this daily, and the strip showcases the sultry chanteuse in two magnificent panels. The image area of this daily measures 18.5" x 5.5", and the art is in Excellent condition. Add a Pagan vision to your art collection with this lovely daily!
