John Wayne Adventure Comics #1 Mile High pedigree (Toby Publishing, 1949) CGC VF 8.0 Cream to off-white pages. John Wayne was so popular that he probably could have run for president, and this is the first time the Duke appeared on a comic book cover (he was in Tim McCoy #16 previously, but only made the back cover... that's Charlton for you!). America's greatest Western hero is paired with America's greatest comic book pedigree here. Naturally, no copy has been graded higher than this Edgar Church book to date.
