Description
The Avengers #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC FN+ 6.5 Off-white pages. The Avengers made their first appearance as a group in this issue. Marvel's answer to the Justice League brought together every non-webslinging solo hero they were publishing at the time (Thor, Iron Man, and Ant-Man), and threw in the Hulk, who had been cooling his green heels since being robbed of his own title a few months earlier. Jack Kirby provided the cover and interior art for this inaugural issue. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $819; VF 8.0 value = $2,389. CGC census 10/06: 33 in 6.5, 120 higher.
