Description
SpongeBob SquarePants "Neptune's Spatula" King Neptune Production Cel and Master Background (Nickelodeon, 1999). "This joke has gone far enough!" The King of the Sea is activated when SpongeBob pulls the magical Neptune's Spatula out from hardened ancient grease while he and Patrick are visiting the Fry Cook Museum (Holy Smokes!), in this typically crazy Season 1 episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. This large image of King Neptune (far more serious-looking than the goofy version found in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie) is a hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field production cel; it comes from that first season episode, the only season with traditional painted cel animation. It can be seen at about 2:31 in online viewings. King Neptune and his trident have an overall image size of 6.5" x 9". The cel is placed on an original hand-painted production background from another Season 1 episode, "The Chaperone." This gouache on skimmed board artwork measures 14" x 10.5"; the green of the background goes well with King Neptune's image. Condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.Auction Info
