Description

Star Trek: The Animated Series Spock Stock Production Cel with Master Background (Filmation, c. 1973-74). Science officer Spock comes out ready for action with fists raised, in this original hand-painted 12 field production cel. Spock's character in Star Trek: The Original Series was downplayed in the first few episodes, due to NBC's insistence that he be a background character. It didn't take long for the fans to love Leonard Nimoy as Spock so much that NBC did a complete turnaround, and complained he wasn't used enough! There were even rumors at the time that Spock would replace James Kirk as captain of the USS Enterprise! This great image of Spock is noted in the lower peghole margin as STK, meaning this pose was used in multiple episodes. Spock's approximate image size is 7.75" x 7.25". The hand-painted production background is from the Season One episode "Once Upon a Planet," and includes a hand-painted cel overlay (the light blue area to the right of Spock). The setup is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
